My daughter and grandson wanted to visit the Allentown Art Museum and asked if I would like to join them. What could be better? My family and art!
We arrived and the receptionist gave my grandson a sheet to fill out for a treasure hunt. The children's gallery was first. There were chalkboard walls to draw on and a turtle to climb on.
The elevator took us to the first floor and off to the Payne Hurd Gallery. We were amazed at how old the sculptures of the Indian Gods were!
Around the corner was the Frank LLoyd Wright room. Jaxson was fascinated by the windows. He designed his own window using the acrylic blocks.
Now to show Jaxson one of my favorite paintings. I asked him what he thought the woman was saying to the man. She is telling him to stop bringing all this stuff. It's going to spoil and be thrown out!
Jaxson worked on the treasure hunt sheet. He is drawing in front of the Sol LeWitt Wall Drawing.
Jaxson earned a prize provided by Crayola!
At home, he used the Crayola glass markers to create his own stained glass!
I have enjoyed the Allentown Art Museum since I was my grandson's age. It is a gem! Click on the logo for more information.
